A faith journey toward motherhood: from job-dependency to God-dependency.
First we HOPE. We have enough hope to make us consider it. We never get beyond hope if we trust in ourselves and our ability to make it happen. Over time, we simply become discouraged because we made these choices ourselves, and we don't really deserve anything better since it's our own fault (we say.)
Hope leads us to SEEK beyond ourselves to God's Word and God's promises. Is there any solid help available? If we don't know the Promises in His Word, then we have no basis or reason to move beyond hope.
The good news of seeking is that you will FIND amazing promises of God which are not dependent upon yourself or your deserving. His Word also tells you why these promises have not come to pass in your life. He will not force himself upon you. As we learn his gifts of grace, we can simply receive them. Promises of his provision, his deliverance.
Now, you have to BELIEVE that what you are seeing in the Word of God is actually true, not just possibly true. It is true for anyone who would believe it. You must believe that your mistakes and sins are forgiven. You must believe that these promises are for you!
We must call upon His name according to His Word and ASK for what His Word promises. We trust him by saying, "Ok, Lord, I believe you. Let's do this." It is a prayer with "so be it." (amen) at the end. It is not the begging prayer that you started with; it is a confident, humble prayer of faith.
When you do this, you will begin to RECEIVE. You will see evidence of God's grace entering your situation! You may also receive "firey darts" of lies from the enemy, but your journey is underway.
Now, you will have to STAND on the Word and believe God's Word over your circumstances no matter what happens. No matter what doors open or close, no matter what starts or stops. You must interpet your situation that God's Word is true, and everything else is a lie. Your feet are on God's Word even if the situation has put moss over the rock under your feet and you can no longer tell you're on it. You stand through "the evil day" of the trial of your faith. (Eph 6).
The day will come. You will SEE that God's arm is not too short to save. He is your Provider, your Deliverer! You will see that HE WAS FAITHFUL to you, even if you were faithless!
